임진왜란기 사족<SUB>士族</SUB> 부형<SUB>父兄</SUB>의 형상화 - 『쇄미록<SUB>瑣尾錄</SUB>』을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 『쇄미록』을 통해 사족 오희문의 부형으로서의 일상을 살펴보았다. 특히 임진왜란이라는 특수한 상황은 오희문의 자식에 대한 욕망과 감정을 극적으로 보여주고 있다. 오희문에게 임진왜란은 생존의 문제뿐만 아니라, 사족 가문유지 위협의 시기였다. 이런 상황에서 오희문은 자녀들의 안전과 생존을 걱정하면서도, 자식들의 과거 입격을 갈망하였다. 얼핏 모순적으로 보이는 오희문의 태도는 사회구조적 현상과 관련하는 것으로, 당시 사족이라면 피할 수 없는 현실이었다. 『쇄미록』에서 보여지는 부형의 일상과 책무는 다음과 같았다. 오희문은 인륜이 무너지는 상황에서도 효·제를 실천하며 인륜 공동체로서의 가족을 지키고자 하였다. 또한 집안일, 노부모 봉양, 친인척 접대 등의 어른의 일상을 자녀들과 자연스럽게 공유하고, 이 과정에서 자녀들에게 유학을 내면화할 수 있도록 지도하였다. 또한 자식들의 과거 공부 진행 사항과 결과를 세세하게 기록하는 등 자식들의 입격에 큰 관심을 가졌다. 과거 급제 잔치의 전 과정을 지원하면서 자식들이 사회 인맥을 쌓을 수 있도록 일조하였다. 마지막으로 『쇄미록』 전반에 걸쳐, 오희문이 드러내는 다양한 감정들은, 전란 그 자체보다 가족들 특히 자식들의 신변으로 말미암은 것임을 확인할 수 있다. 그중 자식의 입격은 가장 큰 기쁨이었고, 자녀의 죽음은 슬픔이자 고통에 해당했다. 본 연구는 16세기 부형의 모습을 살펴보는데 단서로 작용할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examined the daily life and educational responsibilities of the father from noble family in the 16th century through Swaemirok. In particular, the special situation of the Imjin War dramatically shows the desire and feelings for Oh Hui-mun"s children. For Oh Hui-mun, the Imjin War was not only a matter of survival, but also a time of threatening to maintain the noble family. In this situation, Oh Hui-mun was worried about the safety and survival of his family, but longed to pass the civil service examination of his sons. At first glance, Oh Hui-mun"s seemingly contradictory attitude was related to social structural phenomena and was an unavoidable reality for the noble family at the time. The daily life and responsibilities of the father from the noble family shown in the Swaemirok were as follows. He tried to protect the family as a community of humanity by practicing filial piety and filial piety even in a situation where humanity collapses. In addition, the daily life of adults, such as housework, caring for elderly parents, and hospitality for relatives, was shared with children naturally, and in this process, children were taught to internalize the thought of Confucianism. In addition, he was very interested in the pass the the civil service examination of his sons, such as recording the progress and results of their study in detail. By supporting the entire process of the Celebration of passing exams, he helped their son build social networks. Finally, throughout the Swaemirkok, it can be confirmed that the various emotions that he reveals are caused by the circumstances of the family, especially the children, rather than the war itself. Among them, passing the exam was the greatest joy, and the death of a child was both sorrow and pain. Swaemirok will serve as a clue in examining the appearance of a Korean father.
