빅데이터를 기반 중국 영화 <패왕별희>의 한국 시장에서 문화적 할인에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Cultural Discount of the Chinese Film Farewell My Concubine in the Korean Market Based on Big Data

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 1990년부터 2024년까지 한국 주요 언론의 뉴스 데이터를 수집할 수 있는 BIGKINDS 플랫폼을 활용하여, 중국 영화 <패왕별희>와 관련된 총 1,845개의 뉴스 기사를 수집하고 빅데이터 기반 텍스트 분석을 수행하였다. 키워드 분석 결과, ‘장국영’, ‘경극’, ‘문화’ 등의 핵심어가 높은 빈도로 나타났으며, 토픽 모델링(LDA) 분석을 통해 ‘국제적 인정도’, ‘스타 파워’, ‘전통 문화 예술’이라는 세 가지 주요 토픽을 도출하였다. 또한 연도별 트렌드 분석을 통해 해당 영화가 한국 사회에서 지속적인 관심과 재수용 과정을 거쳤음을 확인하였다. 이는 <패왕별희>가 한국 시장에서 문화적 할인 현상을 일정 부분 극복한 사례임을 보여주며, 향후 중국 문화 콘텐츠의 해외 진출 전략에 유의미한 시사점을 제공한다.

This study utilizes the BIGKINDS platform to collect a total of 1,845 news articles related to the Chinese film <Farewell My Concubine> published by major Korean media outlets from 1990 to 2024, and conducts big data-based text analysis. Keyword analysis revealed high-frequency terms such as “Leslie Cheung,” “Peking opera,” and “culture.” Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling identified three major themes: international recognition, star power, and traditional cultural aesthetics. In addition, trend analysis by year confirmed that the film has undergone continuous re-evaluation and reception in Korean society. These findings suggest that Farewell My Concubineserves as a representative case of mitigating cultural discount in a foreign market, and provide meaningful implications for the global dissemination strategies of Chinese cultural content.
