The Purpose of this paper is to explain why the Western World connived or backed up Indonesia when it recolonized East Timor,
and why these countries gave pressure
to Indonesia which denied to accept International Force in East Timor (INTERFET).
Perspective of Constructivist gives in-depth analysis on dramatical change of East Timor in two decades. The Western World either
ignored or tolerated rightish Indonesia’s
recolonization on leftish East Timor since it was the time when the ideological nvironmental constructed each state’s dentity
and national interest. The Western oriented states, which redefined its identity and ational interest in accordance with the terms of human rights and humanitarian spirit after the end of Cold War, exercised leverage on Indonesia to accept INTERFET.
