미술교육 관점에서 문화적 역량에 대한 논의 = The study on the concept and elements of cultural competency from the view of art education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 일반적으로 논의되고 있는 문화적 역량의 개념과 요소를 미술교육 관점에서 조망하기 위해 미술에서의 문화적 역량과 미술교육에서의 문화적 역량의 의미를 살펴보고, 다문화 미술교육과 시각문화미술교육의 문화교육적 관점, 문화교육 관점애서 연구한 국내 미술교육의 동향 등을 소개했다. 선행 연구물과 현행 및 개정 미술과 교육과정의 문화교육 관련 목표와 내용을 기초로 미술교육에서의 문화적 역량의 의미를 제시했다. 특히 DeSeCo 프로젝트에서 제시한 개인과 가정, 사회 측면에서 전 생애 과정에서 학습되고 사용되는 역량을 기초로 미술교육에서 문화적 역량의 의미와 요소를 제시했다. 본고에서 논의된 미술교육에서의 문화적 역량의 의미는 미술교육에서 문화적 역량 강화를 위한 교육 실천 방향을 설정하는데 기여할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study discussed the concept and elements of cultural competency from the view of art education. We examined the meanings of cultural competency in art and art education and introduced how multicultural art education and visual cultural art education view cultural education and the trend of art education studying from the view of cultural education in the country. We discussed the meaning of cultural competency in art education based on preceding studies and the goals and contents related with cultural education in the current art curriculum and the revised art curriculum. Specially, we presented the meaning and elements of cultural competency in art education based on the competency to be learned and used in a whole lifetime from individual, domestic, and sodal aspects presented by the DeSeCo project. This discussion is necessary to establish the direction of art education to strengthen cultural competency. To make cultural competence exhibited meaningfully for the benefit of individual and society, we need to consider the following in the study of educational practice scheme. First, we must utilize diverse symbols of art in social interaction and build meanings of the symbols through cultural transition. Second, we must apply the ability using instruments achieved from artistic experience to communicate with others and society. Third, we must understand the meaning of special and innovative experiments in the change of new art culture and connect them with individual life. Fourth, we must not accept passively interpretation about art culture but create new interpretation. Fifth, we must use new technology related to art in individual's life and the interaction with others and society. Sixth, we must establish meaning and value in the context through the interaction with diverse communities.
