<AbsText> THESE hounds met at the Fox and Hounds, Eggesford, on Saturday, and the morning was an ideal one for otter hunting. A large field turned out; among them were Mr Thornton, Master Culmstock Otter Hounds, Mr H. B. Heinemann, Mr Spiller, Master Mid-Devon Foxhounds. Keeper Smith having reported the work of a brace of otters on his beat, hounds drew first up the Taw by the hotel. On Hearing the holding by the Rashleigh Weirpool, they became as keen as possible; but, not owning solidly at the holt, they drew on through the pool, and from thence down the leat to the mill; but our quarry was not there. </AbsText>
