The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of gender and learning ability on two assessment versions(CBT vs. PBT). This study focused on comparison of the scores in computer version and in paper-pencil version of the same test. Participants were selected randomly among sixth grade students of one elementary school. The number of male students was sixty-one, and the number of female students was fifty-seven. The current study was attempt to analyze 1) the difference between CBT scores and PBT scores, 2) the effect of gender on CBT and PBT, 3) the effect of learning ability on CBT and PBT. The result showed that the scores between CBT and CBT were not affected by gender, but the scores were affected by learning ability. Through the current study, we could explore the potential of CBT in school situation. The result from the current study showed that there were no difference between CBT scores and PBT scores. Although the current study was based on semi-experimental design for the application of CBT in school, we could find the potential of CBT. The current study shows that effective test can be implemented in conjunction with CBT at classroom and home. Also it indicates that we can use CBT effectively with Cyber Home Learning Systems.
