This paper describes the development of rupture modeling of spot weld suitable for safety strength FE analysis in the vehicle development process. This spot weld rupture modeling method is for elevating analytical reliability. Three values are obtained by experimental result that used to calculate numerical rupture formula. In order to verify the proposed method, an example is compared numerical rupture model and experimental result. Simplified spot weld force index calculated by rupture numerical formula is studied to investigate a method on the optimal design of a vehicle body structure.
