남성 헤어디자인 확장을 위한 옵아트 헤어타투 작품 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 사회는 삶에 대한 표출방식이 다양해지고 그것을 헤어스타일로 통하여 드러내는 시대라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 헤어타투는 남녀를 불문하고 예술적 표현이 가능한 소재로 그 활용도는 무한하고 가능성은 크다고 할 수 있다. 투블럭 커트가 대중적으로 자리 잡게 되면서 헤어타투 또한 대중적으로 자리할 것이라는 기대에 본 연구자는 옵아트의 특성을 선행논문과 이론적 배경을 토대로 분석하여 이미지를 선정한 후 옵아트의 대표적인 작품을 모티브로 세분화 된 표현 특성 8가지를 적용하여 옵아트 8 작품을 제작하였다.
첫째, 옵아트의 특징과 타투의 종류 및 헤어타투의 개념을 고찰한 후 옵아트의 대표 작가인 빅토르 바자렐리, 브릿지 라일리, 죠셉 알버스등의 작품과 본 연구자의 상상력으로 도출된 작품을 선정하였다.
둘째, 선행연구와 문헌 자료를 통하여 기하학적이고 시 지각적인 착시현상을 관찰하고 옵아트와 헤어타투 작품을 제작하였다. 작품Ⅰ(커브)는 얼룩말을 모티브로 곡선을 강조하여 시 지각적이고 기하학적인 형태로 디자인하였고 남성 헤어디자인은 리젠트 스타일로 앞머리를 세워 남자답게 표현하였으며 컬러는 레드 브라운으로 부드러우면서도 세련되게 느낌을 살렸다. 작품 Ⅱ(크로스)에서는 십자가 모양으로 입체감 있게 연출하고 남성 헤어스타일은 리젠트 스타일로 엑티베이티드하게 표현하였으며 컬러는 레드와 블루를 이용하여 화려하게 연출하였다. 작품 Ⅲ(미로)는 스트럭춰 스타일로 드라이어로 C컬을 만들고 골 빗을 이용하여 물결 웨이브 느낌이 나도록 강인한 남성미를 표현하였으며 헤어타투는 어지럽게 갈래가 져서 복잡한 길로 들어가면 빠져나오기 어려운 미로를 연상하도록 작품을 제작하였다. 작품 Ⅳ(링크)에서는 체인을 구성하는 연결고리를 연상하며 작품을 제작하였고, 헤어디자인은 패션 스타일로 자연스럽게 충분한 웨이브를 강조하였으며 컬러는 에쉬 그레이로 남성미를 표현하였다.
작품 Ⅴ(블럭)은 부품을 하나의 구조물로 짜 맞추듯 조합하여 조화롭게 연출하였으며 헤어스타일은 패션스타일로 세련됨을 강조하였으며 일체감 있게 헤어타투 스타일을 제작하였다. 작품 Ⅵ(트라이앵글)은 삼각형의 그라데이션이 잘 나타나도록 헤어타투를 하였으며 남성 헤어스타일은 엑티베이티드한 느낌이 나도록 왁스를 이용하여 스타일링 하였다. 작품 Ⅶ(블랙홀)은 모든 물질을 빨아들이는 검은 구멍을 연상하고 바둑판 모양의 흑과 백으로 연출하였으며 헤어스타일은 브레이드 스타일로 제작하였다.
작품 Ⅷ(스퀘어)는 직사각형이 나열되어 착시를 일으키게 표현하였고 입체감을 살려 사각형이 쌓여있는 형태로 제작하였다. 스트럭춰 스타일로 C컬 드라이하고 골 빗으로 느낌을 살려 신사적인 남성 스타일로 연출하였다.
본 연구는 옵아트라는 예술 양식을 남성 헤어스타일과 접목하여 제한적인 남성 헤어디자인의 확장을 위한 새로운 디자인을 제시하였으며 살롱에서 활용 가능한 디자인으로 헤어타투의 가치를 확인하였다. 앞으로 다양한 디자인 개발에 대한 무한한 가능성을 제시하여 미용 예술과 미용 산업 분야에 기여하기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In modern society, people’s expressions of their lives have become more diverse. It is not too much to say that we now live in an era when our personality is expressed through our hairstyles. A hair tattoo is a material for artistic expressions for both men and women. It is limitless in terms of utilization with great growth potential. As the two-block haircut has become popular, it is expected that hair tattoos would also be popular. Under these circumstances, this study chose images after analyzing the characteristics of optical art based on previous studies and theoretical background and applied 8 different expressive characteristics which have been segmented with famous op-art works as motifs. Then, 8 op-art styles were created. First, the characteristics of op art, tattoo styles and concept of a hair tattoo were reviewed. Then, the works of famous optical artists such as Victor Vasarely, Bridget Louise Riley and Josef Albers and those created with the author’s imagination were chosen. Second, geometric and visually perceptive illusions were observed through previous studies and literature records, and op-art and hair tattoo styles were created. Style I (‘Curve’) was created in a visually perceptive and geometric pattern, focusing on curves with a zebra as a motive. For men’s hairstyle, the front hair was straightened up in regent style. In terms of color, red brown was applied, generating a smooth and refined mood. In Style II (‘Cross’), 3D design was created with cross patterns. For men’s hair, an activated regent style was created. In terms of color, red and blue were adopted for fancy and gorgeous styling. Style III (‘Labyrinth’) offers a structured style. After forming C-curls with a dryer and waves with a comb, masculinity was expressed. For a hair tattoo, a confusing and complex labyrinth-like style was created. In Style IV (‘Link’), a chain link-like style was designed. For the hairstyle, voluminous waves were emphasized in a natural way. In terms of coloring, ash grey was applied to express masculinity. Style V (‘Block’) was created in a harmonious fashion by combining components systematically. For a hairstyle, a refined and stylish pattern was emphasized. In addition, a uniform hair tattoo style was created. In Style IV (‘Triangle’), a hair tattoo was applied to express triangular graduation. Men’s hair was styled with wax to create an activated mood. Style VII (‘Black Hole’) symbolizes a black hole sucking all objects. It was expressed in black and white with a GO board pattern. For hair, a braided style was created. In Style VIII (‘Square’), rectangles were lined up, generating illusions. In addition, they were piled up with 3D effects. Using structural patterns, a gentleman’s style was created, using C-curl and comb. This study proposed new design needed to expand men’s hairstyles by applying op art to men’s hairstyles and confirmed the value of hair tattoos which are applicable at hair salons. It is anticipated that this study would suggest limitless possibility for design development and make a contribution to the development of beauty art and the cosmetology industry.
