Double composite steel box girder is a structural system filled with the concrete at the bottom of steel box girder in the negative moment region. Double composite steel box girder makes it possible to design more effective cross section than existing steel box girder on account of the increase of flexural and torsional stiffnesses. Shear center and torsional stiffness are evaluated for the several thicknesses of bottom concrete of double composite steel box girder. As a result, shear stresses resulting from the pure torsional moment of double composite steel box girder are analyzed. SAP2000™TM which is famous for a numberical analysis tool is utilized to verify the analytical calculation results. Steel parts of double composite steel box girder are analyzed by 4 node shell element and concrete parts by 8 node solid element. Difference of the shear center locations between numerical analysis and analytical calculation was about 10cm. Shear stresses of upper flange and web plate calculated by numerical analysis and by analytical calculation were almost the same. However, shear stresses of lower flange and concrete were the same only for the thicknesses 40cm and 60cm concrete cases and in case of 20cm concrete relatively large difference was observed.
