Metoclopramide hydrochloride is one of drugs that have an antiemetic and antiarrhythmic effect. But the solution of Metoclopramide hydrochloride is so unstable that the transformation of structure take place easily in air.
In order to stabilize Metoclopramide hydrochloride solution, we tested the stability of this drug under various conditions, the result of experimentation is as follows.
1. The Rf value according to photodecomposition of Metoclopramide hydrochloride solution appeared on 0.39, 0.24, 0.16 by the method of thin layer chromatography.
2. The decomposition of Metoclopramide hydrochloride by sun-lamp is composed of pseudo first order reaction.
3. The pH range of Metoclopramide hydrochloride solution is recommended to pH 6.0.
4. The stabilizing effect of Metoclopramide hydrochloride solution adding Sorbitol was most excellent in various saccharides.
5. Metabisulfite group(K_2S_2O_5, Na_2S_2O_5) exhibited more excellent effect than other stabilizers.
