중국어 말차례 시작지점에서 연속으로 나타나는 담화표지의 사용패턴과 기능 = Patterns and functions of sentence initial particles sequencing

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates the sequencing of discourse markers at the beginning of conversational turns. An examination of discourse markers frequently occurring in sequence and their various aspects, including distributional properties, collocation patterns, and sequential structures in conversational contexts, led to the division of collocation patterns into 8 subcategories. The ordering of discourse markers occurring in sequence demonstrates that discourse markers functioning as confirmation precede discourse markers functioning as discourse structure, and discourse markers functioning as stance-marking come last. What motivates speakers to combine discourse markers is that, first, discourse markers in sequence are used for floor-holding; second, the discourse markers occurring in sequence are functionally complementary—when discourse markers co-occur, the more general discourse marker precedes the more specific discourse marker; third, discourse markers occurring in sequence reflect the temporal order of communicative tasks that speakers deal with when opening a turn.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 중국어 일상대화에서 말차례 시작지점에서 연속으로 나타나는 담화표지들의 사용패턴과 기능을 살펴보았다. 정량적인 분석 결과 연속되는 담화표지의 개수가 늘어날수록 빈도가 줄어드는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며 담화표지가 연속으로 나타나는 경우는 대부분 2개 연속이거나 3개 연속이었다. 말차례 시작지점에서 연속으로 사용되는 담화표지가 실제 대화에서 일정한 사용패턴을 보이는지 분석한 결과 총 8개의 사용패턴으로 분류할 수 있었다. 말차례 시작지점에서 나타나는 담화표지들은 동일한 기능을 나타내는 담화표지들이 함께 출현하는 경향을 보였으며 각각의 기능을 수행하는 담화표지들은 동일한 담화표지들이 연속으로 나타나기도 하고 서로 다른 담화표지들이 연속으로 나타나기도 하였다. 담화표지 연속 사용패턴과 담화표지 연속 사용 동기와의 관계를 상호작용적인 측면에서 살펴본 결과 첫째, 담화표지를 연속적으로 사용함으로써 말차례를 유지하고자 하였다. 둘째, 담화표지를 연속적으로 사용함으로써 기능적 보완을 하고자 하였다. 셋째, 담화표지를 연속적으로 사용함으로써 기능적 변화를 표시하고자 하였다.
