성범죄자의 연령별 특징 및 재범 요인 연구 = A Study on the Factors for Predicting Sexual Recidivism among Sex Offenders of Different Age Groups

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 우리나라 성범죄자의 특징을 연령별로 살펴보고, 연령대별로 성범죄자의 사후 재범 관련 요인을 비교·검토하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 2013년과 2014년에 우리나라 법무부 신상정보 등록 시스템에 입력된 전체 성범죄자 16,190명의 데이터를 분석하여, 성범죄자의 연령대별 특징을 다양한 차원에서 검토한다. 총 321명이 신상정보 등록 이후, 동종 성범죄 재범을 저질렀고, 그 연령별 비율은 30대(37.5%)>50대(21.2%)>40대(18.4%)>20대(18.1%)>60대 이상(5.0%) 순인 것으로 나타났다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 성범죄자의 연령별로 과거 성범죄 전과와 교도소 수용이 공통적인 재범 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 단, 연령별로 직업 유무나 죄명, 전자발찌 부착 등 일부 상이한 요인이 사후 재범 발생에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는바, 성범죄자의 연령을 고려한 연령-특성 기반(age-specific)의 새로운 고위험군 평가 및 지역사회 교정 정책이 필요하다고 하겠다.

The current study aims at investigating the fundamental characteristics of 16,190 sex offenders focusing on the recidivism rates of various age groups of sex offenders in South Korea. In particular, this study emphasizes the crucial factors that are associated with recidivism across the different age groups of sex offenders who were officially registered by Korean Ministry of Justice from 2013 to 2014. Logistic regression analyses results demonstrated that the number of prior sexual offenses and incarceration experience are common factors that are linked with recidivism of sex offenders among all sex offenders of various age groups. Further policy implication will be discussed.
