사회자본이 노인의 주관적 웰빙에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Social Capital on the Subjective Well-Being of the Elderly

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In a super-aged society, interest in the quality of life of the elderly is increasing. This study examined the factors influencing the subjective well-being of the elderly, focusing on the social capital factors. Through the review of previous literature, social capital factors were classified into trust, norms, private communication, public communication, and participation. Socio-demographic factors, such as age, education, marital status, household income, health status, and job status were set as control variables. For the analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test and multiple regression analysis were performed by utilizing 1,543 data of the elderly aged 65 or older among the 2021 “Social Integration Survey” data collected by the Korea Institute of Public Administration. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, the higher the trust, private communication, public communication, and participation, the higher the subjective well-being level, but the norm was not statistically significant. As for socio-demographic factors, health status, marital status affected on the subjective well-being, while gender, educational background, household income, and job did not. Based on these results, practical and policy implications for improving the subjective well-being level of the elderly by strengthening the social capital factor were suggested.
