New antibacterial agents are developed by esterification of quinolone derivatives, well known antibacterials, with the intermediate compound of Ketoconazole, a well known antifungal.
The antibacterial activities of the compounds(14,15) against the G(-) Escheri chia coil, Pseudomonas aer ug inosa, and G(+) Staphylococcus epidermidis, were superior to that of Nalidixic acid. but inferior to that of Norfloxacin and Ofloxacin.
The antifungal activities against Sacchromyces c er eoi si ae, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans were inferior to that of Ketoconazole.
