The theme that has ever treated most frequently and recognized most profoundly in the Korean classic literature is the intimacy between Nature and Man. This may be partly responsible for its considerable amount of academic accomplishment in the field concerned. If we take into consideration, however, that the whole situation in which the theme lies may be interpreted as a traditional one, it is very regrettable that the previous studies could not cope with the historical limit by falling into a kind of mannerism, following the old tendency of defining it as a product of an ancient period.
To make the matter worse, in spite of examining the essence of existential experiences derivable from "the meating with Nature" by clarifying its ontological meanings, there has been a tendency to deal, apart from "noumenon", only with apparent "phenomenon" in the light of roriter`s personal aspects or thoughts in the writer`s present age.
Accordingly the followings should be pointed out as a suggestion for further innovative research in this field.
1. The thought about Nature must be included in the domain of the study of Korean traditional literature, hence it should be one of the tasks of literature to establish it as a pure tradition.
2. To break from the convention of the past studies, the dimension of the analysis on the theme should be moved from "phenomenon" to noumenon.
