In 2020, due to the revision of Article 40 of the Act on the Use and Protection of Credit Information, the scope of detective activities was expanded as business activities became possible using the name of 'detective'. However, most detective activities are very closely related to the current laws, and in particular, the contents of detectives' fact-finding or information collection can be used as useful evidence in various legal procedures such as lawsuits, so detective activities are required to take place within the boundaries of the current laws.
Therefore, it is important for detectives to acquire sufficient knowledge of detective-related laws, etc., in addition to cultivating detective technology, in order to effectively carry out detective activities under the current law. This is because, in order to promote the legislation of the detective system and the development of the detective industry, it is not necessary to receive requests for illegal matters so that the currently active detectives can comply with the actual law and be recognized as a legitimate job, and it is necessary to make efforts not to engage in any illegal activities.
Since detectives are essentially professional soldiers who are open to infringing on the privacy of the people, it is necessary to establish our society's detective system as soon as possible by organizing the current state of recklessness so that those who find detectives who are unfair do not feel unfair again.
The detective system does not violate the state's investigation area, but can play a role in filling blind spots that the public power cannot reach, and the legislation of the detective industry means cultivating and controlling excitement centers in the dark. Private detectives also need to be institutionalized as certified detectives managed and qualified by the state.
Currently, multinational companies in Korea are actually hiring and utilizing employees of their own detective companies in the name of "receiving consulting."
Ultimately, crimes such as robbery, murder, and drugs that require coercion are handled by police and prosecutors, which are state powers, and white-collar crimes that do not involve physical force and violence, such as traffic accidents, insurance, missing persons, cybercrime, and whereabouts of people and objects, are reasonable for detectives to be undertaken. In addition to the related occupations described above, patent attorneys, customs agents, insurance companies, and debt collectors are also in occupations that can be linked to detectives in fact-finding.
In many research results, it is obvious that the introduction of the detective industry has the effect of creating new jobs through cooperation with related occupations rather than disconnecting from related occupations. Opening a detective office can reduce the excessive workload of investigative agencies such as the police and prosecution, and can positively change the perception of people who have been doing it negatively, such as excitement centers, errand centers, and solvers. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to study cooperation measures with various related occupations.
