문화 담론으로서의 현대시―김동근 시론의 쟁점 = Modern Poetry as a Cultural Discourse―Focusing on Kim, Dong-geun's Poetic Studies

국문 초록 (Abstract)

김동근의 연구는 󰡔서정시의 기호와 담론󰡕(2001), 󰡔한국 현대시 담론 읽기󰡕(2020)에 집약되어 있다. 김동근 시론은 기호학적 방법론에 근거한 담론 분석으로 특화된다. 현대 언어학의 성과에 따른 기호 분석의 방법론이 김동근 시론의 기본적 태도인 것이다. 이러한 입장 속에는 맥락적 실정 분석이 포함되기에 김동근식 방법론은 서정시라는 대상 장르의 경계를 확장한다. 담론 단위로 시어를 바라보는 관점에는 기호의 축자적 의미망을 넘어 정론 효과를 텍스트 구조의 본령에 포함시키려는 구성주의적 의도가 담긴다. 이러한 목적 아래 일련의 연구 과정들은 한국 현대시사에서 정전 격에 해당되는 작가와 작품을 다룬다. 그의 작업은 우리 정전의 범주를 세밀하게 재구성하고 있으며, 특히 전통을 지양하여 중층적 시간으로 내면화한 언어로서의 시적 현대성을 섭렵하는 과정으로 귀납되어 왔다. 나아가 김동근은 현실과 존재를 내면화하는 언어의 국면에 주목한다. 존재의 메커니즘에는 시간과 공간이 배경으로 관계하게 된다. 존재에 관한 미메시스로서의 언어는 정치성과 장소성이 혼융되는 존재-공간성을 필연적으로 수반할 수밖에 없다. 이러한 분석을 위시하여 김동근 시론은 시간을 거슬러 현대시의 본성이 체현되는 역사적 맥락을 추적하고 있다. 김동근의 담론 분석적 관심은 한국사의 역사적 변곡점에 반응하는 문학 양상을 묘파하는 작업으로 이어졌다. 이로부터 역사적 현재화를 위해 전략적으로 전유되어야 할 범주로서 ‘장치’ 개념이 도출된다. 디지털 매체가 발달하고 다양한 플랫폼이 현실화되면서 시적 담론이 지닌 의미와 역할에 대해서도 진지한 재구가 요구되고 있다. 그렇게 볼 때 정전 변주의 도구로 삼는 현대성은 기존의 제도적 장치를 세속화하기 위해 동원되는 김동근식 시적 장치인 셈이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Kim, Dong-geun's research can be summarized as a discourse analysis based on a semiotic methodology. Analysis of symbols according to the achievements of modern linguistics is the basic attitude of Kim, Dong-geun's research. Kim, Dong-geun's position expands the boundaries of lyric poetry. A series of studies deals with representative artists and works of contemporary Korean poetry. His work reconstructs the categories of our canon in detail, and in particular, it has led to a process of immersing himself in poetic modernity as a language internalized as a multi-layered time by avoiding tradition.
Kim, Dong-geun pays attention to the aspect of language that internalizes reality and existence. In the mechanism of existence, time and space are related to the background. Language as a mimesis of existence inevitably accompanies existence-spatiality where politics and placeness are mixed. Starting with this analysis, Kim's poetry goes back in time and traces the historical context in which the nature of modern poetry is embodied.
Kim, Dong-geun's discourse and analytical interest led to the work of deciphering literary aspects that respond to historical inflection points in Korean history. From this, the concept of ‘dispositif’ is derived as a category to be strategically appropriated for historical presenting. With the development of digital media and the realization of various platforms, a serious reconstruction of the meaning and role of poetic discourse is required. In this way, modernity used as a tool for canonical variation is Kim's poetic dispositif mobilized to secularize the existing institutional dispositif.
