The influence of nose angle of protecting column on the reduction of local scour depth is considered. Attached with scour protecting column as a method for reducting local scour depth surounding bridge piers, it carries out the laboratory experiments and calculates the maximum equilibrium scour depth. From the experiments attached with the scour protecting column, it sums possible tar reduce the scour depth as the protecting column are built in the same height with flume bed at foots upstream interrupted falling flow. And then it could reduce scour depth by influence of nose angle.
