〈李守則傳〉群의 서사양상과 작가의식 ― 주변 인물 서사를 중심으로 = Narrative style and writer's consciousness appeared on the group of Leesuchikjeon

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 이수칙전 군의 서사 양상과 작가 의식을 살펴보았다. 성해응은 「이수칙」에서 장헌세자와의 만남, 재회 등을 구체화하여 장헌세자와의 애정 관계를 강조하고, 수칙의 은둔을 자신을 사랑하다 먼저 간 남성을 향한 적극적인 절렬(節烈)로 규정하였다. 이옥은 「수칙전」에서 은둔 조력자인 이모 서사를 수칙과 대등하게 확대하고 수칙과 이모의 행위를 대비시킴으로써 수칙의 오랜 고절(苦節)을 고양하였다. 이건창은 「이수칙전」에서 은둔 조력자를 동생으로 교체하여 수칙이 적극적으로 침묵의 의지를 펴게 하고 그것을 임금의 정치적 행보와 연결시켜 수칙이 죽은 세자와 당대 임금을 위해 충을 행하였다고 칭송하였다. 이수칙전 군은 입전 인물 중심의 전 양식에서 주변 인물 서사의 다양성을 이끌었을 뿐만 아니라 주변 인물 서사가 주제 의식의 바탕이 되는 것까지 보여주었다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또 개인의 역사를 다루는 장르가 허구적 상상력을 적용하는 한 시점을 보여준다는 점에서도 의의가 있다.

This paper aims to examine the narrative changes of the surrounding characters in the group of Leesuchikjeon and explore the consciousness of the writer expressed through these changes. In Leesuchik, Seong Hae-eung emphasizes the affectionate relationship with Crown Prince Jangheon by specifying their encounter and reunion, while defining the Leesuchik’s seclusion as a passionate and resolute dedication to the man who loved her but passed away before her. In Suchikjeon, Lee-ok expands the narrative of Suchik’s aunt who helps her to an equal status with Suchik and contrasts their actions to elevate Suchik’s long-standing integrity. In Leesuchikjeon, Lee Geon-chang replaces the helper with a younger brother, enabling Suchik to express the will of silence actively, connecting it to the political actions of the king, and praising Suchik for serving both the deceased crown prince and the contemporary king with loyalty.
The fact that the surrounding characters in the group of Leesuchikjeon are portrayed as being on equal footing with the main characters, or that their roles are enhanced, corresponds to a point in the process that Jeons becme novels in the late Joseon period.
