      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores the possible use of several kinds of contemplative art therapy as a spiritual practice for the victims of human objectification in Korea. Human objectification in Korean society stems from layers of oppression in the nation’s history and culture, i.e., ageism, sexism based on Confucianism culture, a rigid hierarchical order in society, and a widespread army culture. Furthermore, Korean society has undergone rapid economic change over a short period of one hundred years. Because of the rapid development of technology and capitalism, with its reliance on Artificial Intelligence systems and the requirement for people to adapt quickly to sweeping change, human objectification has reached a crisis point.
This research analyzes the effect of contemplative art therapy, which is based on Jungian psychology, to confirm its potential use as a spiritual practice for healing the victims of human objectification. For, as Martha C. Nussbaum reminds us, loss of subjectivity is the main issue for people enduring human objectification. Through its acts of expression, art enables the victims of objectification to recognize their authentic selves and the oppression that caused them to lose themselves, the center of their being, and their spirituality.
