This thesis is intended to disclose that the representation of the ``Road``is being symbolized in a way that is different from the previous times, by examining the representation of the ``Road`` that emerged at the liberation period relating to the problem of self-criticism. The ``Road`` has been used as the major materials of the literature regardless of its genre of the poem or novel, through the history in the world. Therefore, we are quite well accustomed to the image about the road, and the images of the ``Road`` that appeared in modern poems are quite similar as well. However, it can be regarded that the question about the meaning of the ``road`` in special society as the emancipation period has another meaning. It can be noted that the image of the ``road`` worked either as the faint hints for the future of the youth concerning about the career path or as the morphological image as the landscape, but the image of the road that appeared at the time of emancipation is considered to be one of the important assignments for removing the remnants of the Japanese Empire, and is associated with the problem of self-criticism. Accordingly, the road accompanies the ideological typicality as the road of appropriateness in which one needs to go. Here, it was regarded that the problem of self-criticism and the choice of the career according to it were revealed complexly through the ``road`` as the concrete aspect. Also, under the assumption that the representation of the ``road`` is being extremely symbolized in the morphological imagination at the liberation period, the problem of self-criticism of the poet at the time of emancipation was examined through the aspect of the symbol of the ``Road``.
