소집단 그림책 읽기 활동이 유아의 개인적가상적 내러티브와 마음이론 발달에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Small Group Picture Book Reading Activities on Children's PersonalFictional Narrative and Theory of Mind Development

This study explores the effects of picture book reading activities on children's personal and fictional narratives and theory of mind development. This research proposes that picture book reading activities can enhance young children's structural development, their use of cohesive devices, the length of clauses, mental state terms, and theory of mind. Subjects for this study are 45 4-year-olds and 51 5-year-olds in two kindergartens. Children in the experimental group (214-year-olds and 24 5-year-olds) read a life-story book and a fantasy book biweekly for 10 weeks and discussed their personal experiences and feelings related to the contents and topics of the books, and wrote their own stories.
This research shows that small group discourse after reading fantasy books for fictional narrative and life-story books for personal narrative enhances young children's structural development level of personal․fictional narratives, the length of clauses, the use of cohesive devices, mental state terms, and theory of mind.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 소집단 그림책 읽기 활동이 유아들의 개인적⋅가상적 내러티브와 마음이론 발달에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 연구이다. 유아가 소집단 그림책 읽기 활동을 통해 자신의 경험을 자연스럽게 이야기 할 수 있는 기회와 가상의 이야기 꾸미기 활동을 경험함으로써 유아의 내러티브 구조발달수준, 내러티브의 절의 수, 응집장치, 정신상태 용어 사용과 마음이론이 향상될 것으로 가정하였다. 4-5세 유아를 대상으로 주 1회, 10주 동안 개인적 내러티브 수준 향상을 위해서는 생활동화를 읽어주고 이야기 나누며, 가상적 내러티브 수준 향상을 위해서는 환상동화를 읽어주고 이야기 나누는 활동을 제시한 결과 유아의 개인적⋅가상적 내러티브의 구조발달수준, 절의 수, 논리적 응집장치의 사용, 마음이론 수준이 향상되는 것으로 나타났다.
