In this study, a parameter estimation algorithm is developed which can estimate stiffness and mass parameters from measured modal response, structural parameters are estimated by minimizing an output error. To solve a constrained nonlinear optimization problem, RQP and Fletcher active set Strategy are applied. A parameter grouping scheme has been adopted to control the number of unknowns. In simulation study, the proposed algorithm estimates structural parameters with miscalculated mass property in some parameter group and is applied to identify boundary properties of a substructure.
