사회적 자본과 여성의 정치참여: 저신뢰와 세대, 이념적 분극화 = A Study on Social Capital and Women`s Political Participation

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is aimed at making a quantitative analysis of the difference in political participation between men and women using the social capital approach. For this survey, this study used quota sampling by gender, age, and those consequent on the proportional number of regional population, as well as telephone survey results hosted by Research & Research Co. Ltd. As a result of the research, first, it was found that there existed a significant difference in norm of reciprocity between men and women’s social capital. Second, in the difference in political participation between men and women, women were found to be aggressive in unconventional political participation. Third, the research results indicated that the stronger the generalized trust in others, the more aggressive women’s conventional participation was, especially the case in the more older age, higher educational background, low income, and conservative groups. In addition, the research results showed that more women prefer community interest, and in the case of lower age, higher educational background, and liberal groups, women’s unconventional participation was aggressive. Through this analysis, this study discovered the implications of possible distorted political participation consequent on Korean women’s generalized decline in trust and ideological polarization against generations.
