경제상황에 따른 국방비 지출의 경제적 효과에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Economic Effects of Defense Expenditure According to Economic Situations

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 경제 상황 변동에 따른 국방비의 역할을 살펴보고 국방비 지출이 국가 경제에미치는 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국방부와 국가통계포털을 통해 국방비와 실업률, 국내총생산, 경제성장률 등의 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 국방비 지출은 국민총생산과 고용률과는 정(+)의 관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 국방비 지출이 고용률에 미치는 영향은 경제 상황에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 국방비 지출이 고용률에 미치는 효과는 경제상황이 좋을 때보다 경제 상황이 좋지 않을 때 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는경제 상황에 따라 국방비가 국가 경제에 미치는 차별적 영향을 파악함으로써 국방비 지출의 경제적 기여와 효율적 국방비 지출에 대한 사사점을 제공하고자 하였다.

This study aimed to examine the role of defense expenditures in response to changes in economic conditions and to examine the impact of defense expenditures on the national economy. To this end, we collected data on defense spending, unemployment rate, GDP, and economic growth rate through the Ministry of National Defense and the National Statistical Portal. The results of the study are as follows.
First, defense spending had a positive relationship with GDP. Second, the influence of defense spending on employment rates varied depending on economic situations. In other words, the effect of defense spending on employment rate had a greater impact when the economic conditions were bad than when the economic conditions were good. This study aimed to provide a perspective on the economic contribution of defense spending and efficient defense spending by identifying the differential influence of defense spending on the national economy depending on economic situations.
