      This study proposes and empirically tests teachers’ motivation as an antecedent factor that would enhance educational service quality through teachers’ satisfaction and commitment. The study adopts a structural equation modeling approach which examines the effects of teachers’ motivation, satisfaction and commitment on teachers self stated educational service quality. Data were collected at five major middle schools in the city of Nanyang which is located in the Henan province of China.
      Findings of this study are generally in line with existing literature and the results are as follow. Teachers’ motivation has a significant positive influence on job satisfaction and commitment but not on the teachers’ self stated educational service quality. However, further analysis shows that teachers’ motivation has a significant positive influence on self stated educational service quality through job satisfaction and commitment. The result seems to suggest that even though teachers are motivated, it does not necessarily enhance educational service quality and therefore various teachers’ effort and organizational support need to be carried out to improve educational service quality.
      One of the major implications of this study is that those educational institutions that understand consumer-oriented principles may have a better chance of satisfying the wants and needs of their teachers and students more effectively and therefore may have achieved educational vision. Further implications for educational institutions and research directions are discussed.

      본 연구는 구조 방정식 모델 접근방식을 수용하여 교사들의 동기부여, 만족 그리고 몰입이 교사들이 진술한 교육서비스 품질에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 자료는 중국 하남성 남양...

      본 연구는 구조 방정식 모델 접근방식을 수용하여 교사들의 동기부여, 만족 그리고 몰입이 교사들이 진술한 교육서비스 품질에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 자료는 중국 하남성 남양시 소재 5개 주요 중학교를 대상으로 수집하였다.
      연구결과는 일반적으로 기존의 문헌과 일치하는 것으로 나타났으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사들의 동기부여는 직무만족과 몰입에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 서비스 품질에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직무만족은 몰입과 서비스 품질에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 몰입 역시 서비스 품질에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 겻으로 나타났다. 이는 교사들의 동기부여가 직무만족을 매개로 몰입과 서비스 품질에 유의한 영향을미치고 있음을 시사해 주는 결과라 할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 교사들이 동기부여가 되어있다고 해서 교육서비스 품질이 향상되는 것이 아니라 교육서비스 품질 향상을 위한 교사들의 다양한 노력과 조직의 지원 활동이 병행되어야 함을 시시해 주는 결과로 풀이된다.
      본 연구의 중요한 함의 중 하나는 고객지향적인 원칙을 이해하는 교육 기관들은 교사들의 필요와 욕구를 충족시켜 줄 수 있는 보다 낳은 기회를 갖게 될 것이며 이로 인해 교육적 비전을 달성할 수 있을 것이라는 점이다. 끝으로 교육 기관들에 대한 추가적인 함의와 연구방향에 대해 논의 하였다.
