감성적 표현특성이 적용된 해외 병원 공간디자인에 관한 연구 = A Study on Overseas Hospital Space Design with Expressive Emotional Characteristics

Today's hospitals emphasize on providing a curative environment that values psychological aspects of patients in addition to physical aspects of them advancing one step forward from offering a quality medical service and medical facilities. Also, recent development of communication technology allowed hospitals to have contact with the public more intimate than before, and naturally spatial design of hospital has started to become more patient-centered. The hospitals can apply expressive emotional perspectives by applying methods to bring about visual, psychological and physical calmness to the patients within a medical space. The type of the space design's emotional expression is divided into sensory factors, symbols, scene & sequences, heterogeneity and themes. Each particular influence is evaluated in a multiple perspective of design's expression characteristics through case analysis of recently opened overseas hospital's space. The result of the analysis shows that these expression factors do not emphasize one personality but all factors show a comprehensive condition. In order to convey the meaning effectively considering the hospital's size and space configuration, the delicacy of the emotional expression of the space has been expressed in fullness for an emotional experience. Considering that hospitals now even concern about psychological aspects of patients, future space design of hospital would incorporate every emotional necessities of human as its essential design factors, and in-depth study on hospital space design is expected to be continued with designers' imaginative thinking.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

오늘날의 병원은 의료행위 및 의료시설과 더불어 환자의 육체 뿐 아니라 심리적 부분까지도 존중하는 치유 환경적 측면을 중요시하고 있다. 또한 통신기술의 발전으로 각 병원들의 대대적인 홍보활동은 보다 친근하게 대중과의 대화를 모색하게 되었으며, 따라서 병원은 공간디자인에 있어서도 점차 환자 중심적으로 설계되어지고 있는 실정이다. 의료공간에 머무는 환자들에게 시각적, 심리적, 신체적 안정감을 불러일으킬 수 있는 방법으로 공간에 감성적 측면을 적용시킬 수 있다. 공간디자인의 감성적 표현 유형은 공간의 감각적 요소, 상징성, 장면성과 연속성, 이질성, 테마성으로 구분되며, 분류된 각각의 고유한 영역을 최근 개관한 해외 병원공간의 사례분석을 통하여 디자인의 표현특성을 다각적으로 파악한다. 분석결과 이러한 표현 요소들은 하나의 성격만 부각되는 것이 아닌 모든 요소가 복합적인 양상을 나타냈고, 각 병원은 규모와 공간구성 면에서 병원의 효과적인 의미전달을 위하여 감각적 경험을 통한 감성적 표현으로 공간의 섬세함을 다채롭게 표출하였다. 이처럼 병원의 의미가 환자의 정신적인 부분까지 배려하며 변화되고 있는 시대에 향후의 병원디자인은 인간의 모든 감성적 요구사항을 디자인의 기본요소로 구축해 나갈 것이며, 디자이너들의 창의적인 사고를 통한 병원디자인의 심층적 연구가 지속되어지길 기대해 본다.
