      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The phenomena of gender blending in modern cinema is very complicated nowadays that they are not simply considered as the circumstances which is an issue of homo/heterosexuality. When social phenomenon and ideology from the reality are reflected in the image and its representation of screen, it is valuable that we should concentrate on analysing the film texts with more attentions. The transgender narrative film that I am going to take is on the backdrop of the transsexual culture, not with the direct representation of transsexual story. However, the reason why I call it 'transgender narrative' is comes from the fact that the protagonist in the film is going through the process of gender bending and the material of it is the same as that the story is the transsexual's progress.
      The purpose of this thesis is to interpret the meaning of cultural phenomena by way of dissecting the transgendered narrative structure. It can be descriptive that we take into account the concepts of Freudian psychoanalysis and Jungian analytical psychology, because the transgender is based upon psychological contemplations. We, in conclusions, are up to a point the interpretation to the phenomena of transgender, which is an altemative against the gendercentrism in society now.
      It has been clear that the transgender narrative is arised as an alternative against the coercive gender-centered society and it means the spontaneous eruption to human nature in general. The cultural trend of transgender is interpreted by way of psychological approaches, and it is also interpreted as the meaning of Freudian pre-oedipal psychology and Jungian 'opposite conjunction' rooted in androgyny theory. Even though it is not taken the whole in the thesis, I will expand the area of interpretation in terms of the idea which is stems from orient's 'yin(陰)/yang(陽)' principle, 'Tao(道)' concept is consisted of 'seung(性)/myung(命)' thoughts. If doing so, we are to conclude to overcome the narrow margin of western rationalism which had been passed up to now and to establish the new scope about universal human nature in inner state.
