Minimum fluidization velocity and transition velocity to fast fluidization for two kinds of particles were measured in two-interconnected fluidized bed system consists of riser and bubbling fluidized bed to select appropriate operating conditions. Moreover, effects of operating variables on the solid circulation rate were measured and investigated. The minimum fluidization velocity was 0.0156 m/s for OCN717 particle and 0.0065 m/s for SC-229TD particle. The transition velocity to fast fluidization was 2.10 m/s for OCN717 particle and 1.43 m/s for SC-229TD particle. Based on the minimum fluidization velocity and the transition velocity to fast fluidization, solid circulation rate was measured in the two-interconnected fluidized bed system. The solid circulation rate increased with increasing the opening ratio of the solid flow control valve and the gas velocity in the riser.
