구강검진 및 필요치과진료 수진의 결정요인: 경제적 접근성과 지리적 접근성 간의 상호작용효과 분석 = Determinants Of Dental Screening and Unmet Dental Needs: Interaction effect between geographical accessibility and economic affordability

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In order to extend the life of oral health and improve quality of life in relation to oral health, it is important to receive dental screening regularly and receive treatment timely. The purpose of this study is to identify determinants of dental screening and unmet dental needs using Community Health Survey and Regional statistics of National Health Insurance. The analysis shows that the higher the density of dental practitioners and household incomes were, the higher the usage of dental screening was, and the lower the probability of experiencing unmet dental needs was. The interaction effect between the density of dental practitioners and household incomes proved statistically significant. In addition, demographic features, physical health and oral health were found to be related with whether to receive dental screening and experience unmet dental needs. While most of the policies to improve accessibility to oral health services have so far focused on economic affordability, i.e. the ability to pay, this study finds that geographical accessibility is required as well in improving accessibility to oral health services.
