Measurements have been made on the depth and velocity of water flow on a swimming resort `ptea along the Han River, and on the residual chlorine concentration and general counts of cteria and coliform group organisms after 15 kg. of 60% calcium hypochloride was sprayed at a on the area.. ollowing results were obtained.
1) Depth of water at the same distance from the river side become deeper as the eater level ceases.
2) Velocity of water flow was not recognizable within 10 meter distance from the river side.
3) Residual chlorine concentration 30 minutes after the disinfection was 0.2 ppm throughout the area, but none was d-tested 6'-0 minutes after the disinfection.
4) General counts of bacteria before the disinfection amounted to 12, 000-16, 000/ml of water, t the bacterial growth was negative in the water sampled 30 minutes after the disinfection and /ml 60 minutes after the disinfection.
5) Most probale number (MPN) of coliform group organisms was 14, 000-16, 000/ml of water ore the disinfection, and 0-100/ml of water after 30 minutes and 1, 000/ml of water after 60 utes of the disinfection.
