Traditional VOC removal techniques use sorption materials to adsorb gases or odors. We propose a fusion technique which was consisted of adsorption and additional chemical reaction. We evaluated the enhancement effect of TiO₂ immobilized on activated carbon fiber (ACF) filter for the photodegradation of gaseous benzene. TiO₂ particles were coated on ACF filter using by three different coating methods. A UVlamp and TiO₂ coated ACF filter were fixed on test duct and 0.50 ppm of gaseous benzene was used as test gas. The benzene concentration was continuously measured by a VOC analyzer.
