Unlike that in the existing printing media, the typography in the multimedia environment is called ‘kinetic typography' because it is moved by plastic elements in a three-dimensional screen and determined by spatial changes to which the time element is added. Kinetic typography are also adopted as a means to more easily and accurately interact among cyber literature lovers and functions as a factor to attract the user's attention in the Internet banner ads, e-mails, and intros. It, of course, delivers information at the time of URL movement. This study set out to analyze how receivers perceived the relationships between types and the speed of kinetic typography, which was in motion to maximize its informative feature as a form of visual arts. It also aimed to suggest letter types that could exert the most effects. The first experiment included 55 people living in Seoul, who were surveyed. In the second and third experiment, 104 people in Seoul were surveyed. The database included the 320*420 size, which was based on the 4:3 ratio of the scan resolution used in the digital media, as well as the 30-frame that is popular in kinetic typography. The velocity of 0.5 second and the movement directions of left to right, right to left, up to down and down to up were applied. Through 3kinds of experiments, I can find that the directions and forms affected the results when the typefaces were applied, which implies that the maximization of sense of speed is influenced by the form, the angle of the letter, the thickness of a stroke, the space within the letter and serif. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to make an appropriate use of fonts in kinetic works in order to increase or inhibit the sense of speed according to the direction of movement.
