This paper deals with the ground fault protection from the leakage current in the low voltage distribution system. The protection was carried out mainly by ground connections of stern and loads.
But in recent, with the increase of the voltage of the distribution system, it beings to introduce the ground fault current breakers, in this case the leakage capacitance of the distribution system is an important factor, and the range of proper values of the capacitance is determined by theoretical bases.
Using this values, the limit value of the leakage capacitance for the proper operation range of earth leakage current breakers can he determined.
The protection can be effectively applied and the reliability is improved in case of ground fault in the low voltage distribution system.
