In FMCW radar, linearity of the ramping signal highly affects to the measured range accuracy of the system. Hence the linearity of the ramping signal is quite important for the total radar system performance, and needs to be considered for the system designers properly. The general correlation between the ramp non-linearity and radar performance is a well-known factor, however, analysis of quantitative relationship is not sufficiently progressed. In this paper, the ramp non-linearity is modeled with separated noise sources, periodic noise and random noise, and the relation between the amounts of each noise source and radar performance analysis is performed.
