The new dating technique by the detection of the thermoluminescent emission from ancient earthenwares has been studied by several workers until now.
This method is recognized as more accurate than the C^14 radioactive isotope method, and as the dating process, the thermolurninescent method can be said more convinient one than C^14 method.
The samples used in this work are from three different kinds of ancient earthenwares and the approximate date of them has been known beforehand.
Following result are obtained from the measurements; (1) the samples which has been exposed to the sunlight for a long time is not suitable, and the measured date is not coincided with presumed value but they showed about half of the presumed value in every case. (2) The sample which is not exposed to the sunlight gave desirable measured value, which is in coincidence with predetermined date.
