      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Smoking gradually develops in adolescence and is associated with mental health and behavior problems. This study, using a nationally representative sample of adolescents, tried to explore if there exist mediating roles of structural components giving adolescents helpful Information about quitting smoking, in addition to specific risk & preventive factors associated with adolescent smoking.
‘Smoking, Drinking and Drug Use Among Young People 2013’ including data from 5,109 adolescents (2,747 boys, 52.9% and 2,442 girls, 47.1%) aged 11-14 years was analyzed for the study purpose. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine the relationships between selected socio-demographic variables, truant·exclusion·drinking prevalence·wellbeing score factors, and 4 smoking information related factors. Of smoking related helpful information from parents, friends, teachers, or school polices, only smoking information from teachers influenced the levels of smoking behaviors among adolescents, after controling socio-demographic factors and selected truant, exclusion, drunken experience, and wellbeing scores.
Adolescent smoking control is associated with helping adolescents with economic disadvantage, truant, exclusion, and drunken experiences. In addition, intervention policy should focus on recognition improvement about smoking’s detrimental negative effects by teachers as critical means of reducing the increasing problems of adolescent smoking.
