죽음의 존재와 평가에 관한 소고 = Study on Existence and Evaluation of Death

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Life is all we have and the loss of it is the greatest loss we can sustain. Death is an evil because it brings to an end all the goods that life contains. Life and death are inseparable. No one can escape death. All living things must die. At least the biological death of the flesh cannot be avoided. We just know the average lifespan. The time of individual death cannot be predicted.
Life is not an invariant thing, but means constant change and movement, whether due to chance or due to inevitability. Living things change. Meanwhile, death would be a firm and immutable fact, eventually all living things to go through. Immutability is the essence of death.
To have access to philosophical conversation about death we need definitions of death, dying, nearing death, etc. We also need a reliable evaluation of death. Definition and assessment of death seems to assume that death exists. So to some extent is it sure that death exists? In this paper, I define these issues, and then seek a reliable assessment. Finally, I seek the clarification of judgment on the existence of death.
