캐나다의 다문화 교육 정책에 대한 연구: 온타리오 주의 평등과 다양성 교육을 중심으로 = A Study on the Policy of Multicultural Education in Canada: Focused on Equity and Diversity Education in Ontario

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to diagnose the quality of Canada’s integrated immigration policy based on an analysis of the MIPEX (Migrant Integration Policy Index) and to find out the policy of Canada’s multicultural education by examining the contents of equity and diversity education around Ontario. Canada adheres to the view that Canada should be composited in the multiethnic, multiracial and multicultural background under the principle that the different ethnic groups are equal. In 1971, multiculturalism was adopted as a national policy for the first time in the world, and in 1988, the multiculturalism law was adopted to encourage diversity and equity of culture as a national policy based on the principle of equality and mutual respect among different peoples and cultures, and to induce integration into Canadian society while guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities to immigrants by law. In MIPEX 2015, Canada ranked sixth among 38 countries surveyed with an overall score of 68. For migrants, the labor market is very flexible, and discrimination is strongly prohibited by law, indicating a high sense of social belonging among migrants. The Ontario state government believes that diversity is one of the great assets they have and is trying to realize “diversity” and “equity” to maximize that asset. Diversity and equity are recognized as the key to achieving social integration and regularly planning and evaluating projects at the state level and helping students growth. In order for anti-discrimination to become a social identity in Korean society,equal ideology, not ruling-ruling ideology, should be established as a social perception. It is also likely that the government’s commitment by social consensus should be accompanied by a legal framework for anti-discrimination.
