We present neutron diraction and magnetization results for Ba2CaIrO6. From the magnetization
measurement, we conrmed that Ba2CaIrO6 undergoes a magnetic transition at 55 K, below which,
according to the analysis of our neutron diraction studies, the Ir moments are ordered antiferromagnetically.
Around the Neel temperature of 55 K, we also found that the lattice constants and
the bond length between Ir and oxygen change anomalously, indicative of a probable spin-phonon
coupling.
