This research wished to improvements by analyzing composition technique & problems of eco-water space which was developed in urban area and the growth of the plant and adaptability by environmental conditions of wild water-living plants in Korea. For making Biotope which is the most adequate to the environmental space for survival. We drew out problems of eco-water space by comparing and analyzing ecological value during the research time and the condition of the target place for research and surrounding environments. Also, this document proposes improvements of eco-water space in urban area by analyzing problems of each part.
Total 4 eco-ponds are one school, one residential district, and two ecological spaces. I had chosen as places for researching, mainly ecological water places in the city. The result which it analyzes from water-blocking system, composition technique of brink, a source of water supply, planting water-living plants and so forth of each place is that the case of malfunction of eco-ponds due to the water leakage result from impaired functioning of water-blocking system is the most serious problem. In ponds using the method of waterproof clay among water-blocking system, water-living plants withered to death and the bottom of the pond was exposed because of the water leakage. In ponds using the method of waterproof sheet among water-blocking system, the scenery of the surroundings was interrupted due to the exposure of the sheet.
It was found that survival rates of water-living plant is almost zero by analyzing the number of planting when making water-living plants and the present condition when researching. The priority to improve in eco-water space is the right selection of water-blocking system and prevention of water leakage, therefor, not only the continuous maintenance of the depth of water as the capacity of water space, considering of seasonal features of surrounding trees, the depth of water, the time of flowering, the color when flowering, methods of planting should be appropriate but planting after selecting the water-living plants which has high ability of purification must precede. There is Typhaceae such as Reed, Phragmites japonica, Zizania latifolia, Oenanthe javanica, etc,.in the water-living plants which has high ability of purification. In emerged plants, there are Big phragmites japonica, Iris , Lotus, Pickerelweed, Monochoria vaginalis var. plantaginea. In floating leaved plant, there are Water chestnut, Nymphoides peltata, Nymphoides indica. And in submerged plant there are Ceratophyllum demersum, Potamogeton crispus, Potamogeton oxyphyllus etc.
As a matter of supplied water, seventh of the eight object places used for eco-water space were relying on waterworks and the rest one was using water from river. In residential districts, it is possible to store rainwater and use it as supplied water of eco-water space and irrigation of space for landscape architecture, however, the case is rare except for constructions related to clauses of the Water Service Act. I analyzed out plottage of whole apartments located in the apartment house among the target place for research, squared catchment, made-up rainwater current device, and converted expenses of construction and rainwater into waterworks price. Finally I derived an idea that it had about three times high economical efficiency compared with expenses of formation of device for rainwater storage.
Everybody's effort is needed to prevent water resources which infiltrate rainwater into reservoir or underground from exhaustion with development of the system for recycling rainwater for the future usage and changing perception of users recognizing the importance of nature of ecology and economical efficiency of rainwater. Eco-water space in urban area is spaces for the growth of small living things as well as wild birds. It should be made up apart from images of spaces which have an affinity for water. To enhance efficiency of eco-water space enlargement of area of green tract of land ,increasing the amount of green land and the number of trees such as wild trees located in places possible to connect to the area of a green tract of land base. If human make up eco-water space as the most basic form for the space for the growth of living things in urban area and let nature change by itself, it would reward us with more ecological figure than any spaces that human made.
