튀르크 집단 정체성의 형성과 OTS: 구성주의적 관점을 중심으로

The Organization of Turkic State (OTS), a regional organization centered on Turkic identity, was born in 2021. It was a watershed moment for the Turkic World to expand the scope and intensity of its cooperation by expanding its limited linguistic homogeneity to ethnic homogeneity. The OTS case clearly has shown how the identity formation process of the member states can dramatically enhance the scope and strength of cooperation in a short period of time.
Making a research on the evolution process of a Collective Identity within the OTS has a great significance in terms of regional integration studies; related research, however, has been inadequate, putting aside the theoretical approach. The purpose of this research, therefore, is to analyze the OTS at the level of regional integration and to investigate the relationship between ‘Ideas and Identities that are intrinsically constructed through Interactions’ and the ‘formation of Collective Identities.’ This study takes a Constructive Approach as an Analytical Framework to trace the historical context and political discourse on the formation of the Turkic identity. Based on this, implications will be drawn by analyzing the expansion process of the OTS.
