This article aims to explore the effect and meaning of christian faith on self-identity and career exploration of university christian students. Qualitative and participatory action research which is photo-voice method has been applied for this study with 9 participants. Main themes- self identity, career exploration, christian faith- are given to the participants who were asked to take or make choices of photos which they would consider its appropriateness with the themes for the photo-voice interview. 24 photos have been chosen and 18 theme clusters appeared.
The results are as follows. First, the first theme ‘who am I’ was analysed as 6 sub-themes. ‘Ongoing process of choice and decision making’, ‘Not being myself’, ‘Knowing what would I be doing in the future but not specifically’, ‘Challenging person’, ‘Over self-conscious about others’, Secondly, the theme was ‘With what kind of person am I recognized to my significant others?’. 5 sub-themes are ‘A smile person’, ‘My unique style’, ‘A leader’, ‘Like a racing horse’, ‘Integrity and soundness’. Thirdly, the theme was ‘what kind of future do you imagine?’ 2 sub-themes for this are ‘My career plan is motivated from the adolescence and college life’ and ‘The gap between ideal and reality’ Finally, the theme was ‘what does christian faith mean to you?’ 5 sub-themes are as follows. ‘Driving force of my life’, ‘My real attribute and factor of reflecting myself’, ‘Dramatic turning point of my life’, ‘Faith mirrors my future and values of life’, ‘Committment on faith without termination’. Based on these results, a number of discussions and suggestions are made for the role of christian church.
