The purpose of thesis is to recognize how teachers aware of servant leadership in commercial specialized high school in Gyeongbuk area have an effect on teacher's organizational commitment and school organizational culture. Also, does school organizational culture have organizational efficacy for developing teacher's organizational commitment. Through the result, the thesis results are used to database for showing commercial specialized high school principal's ability and improving teacher's organizational commitment. Following thesis topics are selected to achieve the thesis objective.
Firstly, How does the principal's servant leadership influence on the teacher's school organizational culture?
Secondly, How does principal's servant leadership influence on the teacher's organizational commitment?
Thirdly, When principal's servant leadership has effect on teacher's organizational commitment, does school organizational culture have an organizational efficacy?
To achieve this purpose, The survey was conducted to 350 teachers who works at 18 commercial specialized high school in Gyeongbuk area. The survey was conducted from March 22 to April 6 in 2017. Among the returned 297 volumes(84.8%), All 288 volumes(82.2%) except for inappropriate 9 volumes were analyzed by using SPSS 20.0.
Consequently, there are three drawn conclusions.
Firstly, principal's servant leadership had positively effect on school organizational
culture. Therefore, servant leadership's subordinate factors, bond of sympathy elements, such as listening attentively, sympathy, persuasion, treatment. And, specific direction elements such as recognition, insight, providing vision, the formation of community, and
guidance to the growth were positively related to school organizational culture's factors such as conservative, adventurous, friendly, rational culture. Thus, in order to get school organizational culture's advance, school principle strives to listen school member's opinion attentively and is required to empathize with them. Besides, It is advisory that school members are offered various opportunities for self-improvement.
Secondly, It proved that principal's servant leadership had crucial effect on organizational commitment. Therefore, servant leadership's subordinate factors, bond of sympathy elements, such as listening attentively, sympathy, persuasion, treatment, and
specific direction elements such as recognition, insight, providing vision, the formation of community, and guidance to the growth positively influenced on emotional, continuous, normative commitment. Accordingly, principle's servant leadership is sincerely needed to enhance school member's organizational commitment. Besides, school principals have belief that they have a strong will to sympathize and cooperate with school members.
Thirdly, school organizational culture had partial organizational efficacy in relation to servant leadership and organizational commitment. It proved that school organizational culture's subordinate factors such as conservative, adventurous, friendly, rational culture had partial organizational efficacy. Thus, to exert school's organizational commitment influence, it is necessary that not only servant leadership but also change of school organizational culture is needed. Especially, members in school organization are need to create respectful and friendly ambience. When making a decision, members are required to find a solution to a problem based on rational criterion.
