외모지상주의로 인한 사회적 문제의 인문학적 해결방안 - 비대칭적 심미성의 회복을 위한 현상학적 시도 = A Humanistic Solutions for the Social Problems Caused by lookism : a phenomenological attempt for the recovering asymmetrical esthetic sense

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The Lookism, a tendency toward relying too much on the outside appearances of people, that causes directly or indirectly such social pathological phenomena as a cheapening of individuality and what’s inside has been worryingly rampant in our society. It is reproduced expansively at the level of repetition through the production -consumption system of commercial capital and various cultural contents as well as mass media including digital media which are taken into that system. In the end, this Lookism flows into not only personal lives but also social organizations, and acts as a kind of ideology affecting secretly, but strongly, our world of life. This paper is a phenomenological qualitative inquiry which has the purpose of looking for a much better philosophical alternative view of aesthetics or aesthetic principles than every one we have known, which we need to take to overcome the Lookism that is pointed as one of the main causes of falling the quality of our life, so cited as a social problem that we have to remove immediately to increase our country’s national happiness index. For reaching to that purpose, this paper will focus on the fellowing two topics: (1) the significance of phenomenological researching our aesthetic experience of people’s appearance to overcome the Lookism. (2) a transcendental essence of the aesthetic experience about people’s appearance, which is derived from the phenomenological analysis of the survey conducted by me for this study. From an elucidation of that significance, and through an phenomenological study(analysis, description and interpretation) of that transcendental essence, this paper presents the alternativity‘s meaning of asymmetrical esthetic sense in overcoming of Lookism, and states a method on how for us to take it.
