The purpose of this study was to develop the Social Skills Improvement Program for Children who have experienced Peer Victimization and examine the effectiveness of using the program on reducing their high level Peer Victimization and improving their social skills. Participants were 7 fifth-grade children who showed a high level Peer Victimization in pretest. They participated in the Social Skills Improvement Program at twice a week in six week period from 7, June, 2000 to 12, July, 2000 at the elementary school in Daegu. For examining the effectiveness of using the program, the research instruments were Peer Victimization scale(Crick & Grotpeter, 1996) and Social Skill Rating System; SSRS (Gresham & Elliott, 1990). The research instruments were used for the pre, post, follow up test instrument. The data of Peer Victimization scale were analyzed by Factor analysis, Cronbach`s α, t-Test, and Repeated Measure ANOVA and the data of Social Skill Rating System were analyzed by Cronbach`s α, t-Test, and Repeated Measure ANOVA. Major Findings were as follows : The Social Skills Improvement Program reduced participants`s Peer Victimization and improved participants`s Social Skills ; it improved relationship for peer group and understanding self within peer relationship. The implication of study findings will be discussed.
