감정구조와 대중정치학 = 박정희 향수에 대한 문화이론적 접근

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국에서 박정희 대통령에 대한 향수는 한국국민들의 정치성향을 이해하는데 매우 중요한 대상이다. 그동안 박정희 향수를 설명하는 큰 흐름은 두 가지이었다. 첫째는 심리학적 접근법으로 한국국민의 정서 속에는 불안감이 잡고 있는데 이것이 경제적 위기를 만나게 되면 강력한 지도자를 선망하게 된다는 이론이다. 둘째는 대중독재론의 접근법이 있다. 이것은 박정희 시대에 만들어진 독특한 인간형이 현재에도 여전히 존재하며, 이것이 과거의 기억을 만들어 낸다는 것이다. 그런데 심리적 접근법은 사회구조적 요인을 설명하지 않은 채 집단 심리에 주목하고 있으며, 대중독재론은 주체화과정의 내면적 과정을 설명하지 않은 채 권력의 효과에만 주목한다는 점에서 이론적 한계를 갖는다. 따라서 본 논문에서 필자는 대중정치학이라는 주제를 제안하면서 기존 이론의 한계를 극복하고자 한다. 대중정치학은 감정정치학(대중독재론)과 대중심리학의 양자를 극복하려는 이론적 시도이며, 구체적인 내용은 정치적 주체형성에 관여하는 대표적인 요인들을 설명하는 것이다. 즉 육체, 상징과 의례, 언어, 기억이라는 4가지 요인들이 인간의 정치적 정체성과 행위에 어떤 영향을 주는가를 파악함으로 한국 국민들의 정치적 특성을 이해하려고 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The nostalgia of President Park is the important issue to understand the political orientation of Korean Peoples. There have been two trends about that; the first is psychological approach, according which the anxiety in korean peoples’ minds appears as nostalgia of President Park in front of economic crisis. the second is popular dictatorship, according which the peculiar personality forged in the era of President Park, appears as nostalgia in the special conjuncture. These two approachs nevertheless have their own limits; the psychological approach can not explain social structure, the popular dictatorship can not explain internal procedure of subjectivation. Therefore, the author propose popular politics in order to overcome such limits. Popular politics is composed of four elements; Body, Symbol and ritual, language, memory. with these four elements, we are prepared to more fully understand what is the nostalgia of President Park, and to obtain a more refined account of the relation between action and political identity.
