‘영성치유수련’ 집단상담 모델에 나타난 영성과 치유의 상관관계 연구 = A Study on the Correlation Between Spirituality and Healing in the Group Counseling Model of “Spiritual Healing Retreat”

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 영적 경험으로 이해될 수 있는 영역을 확장함으로써 치유의 경험과 영적인 체험은 서로 다른 체험이 아니라 연결된 경험이라고 주장하는 논문이다. 또한, 이 논문은 ‘영성치유수련’이라는 집단상담 참가자들이 지금까지 이 프로그램을 통해 경험 한 것이 왜 영적이면서 동시에 치유적인지를 연구하는 논문이다. ‘영성치유수련’이란 정태기가 자신의 치유상담에 기반하여 그의 신념과 상담의 전문성, 그리고 자기치유의 경험을 집약시킨 집단상담 프로그램이다. 이 논문은 ‘영성치유수련’이 강조하고자 하는 것은 무엇이며 과연 “영성치유수련은 영적인가?” 하는 연구 질문에 대한 답을 찾아간다.
본론에서는 ‘영성치유수련’에 관한 선행연구를 우선적으로 정리한다. 이 프로그램의 내용과 형식, 그리고 목표와 원리 등을 설명한다. 이 프로그램의 참여자들의 사례를 제시하므로 ‘영성치유수련’의 지향점이 어떻게 잘 실행되어 가는지를 보여준다. 이어서 ‘영성치유수련’의 영성과 치유 개념을 더 깊이 있게 논의하며 마무리를 하는데, 영성과 치유는 종교라는 개념과 동일하지 않으며, 일반적인 경험을 포함하고, 영적인 치유라는 경험이 어떻게 전인적 성장을 이루어내는지를 다루게 된다.

This research explores the relationship between spiritual experiences and healing experiences, asserting that these two are essentially interchangeable and cannot be meaningfully separated. The focus is on the group counseling module known as the “Spiritual Healing Retreat,” a therapeutic program developed by Tai-Ki Chung. The article contends that the retreat encompasses both spiritual and healing dimensions. Rooted in Tai-Ki Chung’s personal healing journey, the program is based on his theoretical beliefs. One of the central questions this research addresses is whether the retreat can be considered truly spiritual.
The article reviews existing research on this subject, examining studies of the program’s goals and principles. It also highlights case studies from actual participants who have experienced the “Spiritual Healing Retreat.” Furthermore, the article discusses the distinction between religion and spirituality, emphasizing that spirituality is not confined to religious doctrine but can be understood as an open concept, capable of encompassing a wide range of ordinary experiences.
