WE have found the following charming little pastoral duett amongst the ancient manuscripts, which it is our proud privilegs to publish for the benefit of an astonished and delighted world, under the title of "Old English Ballads," a heading we use because the majority of the pieces in the collection are written in ballad form, though there are several exceptions. We shall not waste time or space in commenting on the pastoral. Any person who is so grossly ignorant of the history of his native city as not to understand the verses at once, ought to be taken to the edge of the world and thrown over.
