청소년의 문제행동 경험이 가출경험에 미치는 영향 = The relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and academic procrastination: The mediating effect of performance-avoidance goal and the moderating effects of cognitive strategies and meta-cognitive strategies

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of performance-avoidance goal in the process where socially prescribed perfectionism affects academic procrastination. Furthermore, whether cognitive strategies and meta-cognitive strategies have moderating effects in the relationship between performance-avoidance goal and academic procrastination was also investigated. Data were collected from 703 students in eight middle and high schools. For the analyses of the mediating and moderating effects, we used Baron and Kenny steps and hierarchical regression. The results were as follows. First, performance-avoidance goal fully mediated the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism and academic procrastination. This means that performance-avoidance goal increases as socially prescribed perfectionism rises and the increased levels of performance-avoidance goal increase the levels of academic procrastination. Second, cognitive strategies and meta-cognitive strategies moderated the relationship between performance-avoidance goal and academic procrastination. These results suggest that counseling and educational interventions are needed for students who academically procrastinate because of performance-avoidance goal. Moreover, it is expected that enhancing cognitive and meta-cognitive strategies additionally helps to decrease the levels of academic procrastination.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 문제행동 경험이 가출경험에 미치는 영향을 탐구하는 것이다. 연구에 사용된 데이터는 한국청소년패널조사 중2 패널 1차년도(2003년)와 2차년도(2004년) 데이터이다. 결측치를 가진 사례를 모두 제외하고 총 2,968명을 대상으로 기술통계분석, 상관분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 분석방법으로 사용하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면 청소년의 문제행동 경험 중 ‘담배피우기’와 ‘술 마시기’ 경험이 가출경험에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 유의미한 영향은 이전의 가출경험, 청소년의 배경, 부모와의 관계, 친구와 관련된 변인들을 통제하였을 때에도 남아 있었다. 그리고 이전의 가출경험, 청소년의 성별 및 학교 성적, 부모와 대화가 안 통해서 받는 스트레스가 가출경험의 유의미한 예측변인이었다. 이러한 연구결과에 대한 논의 및 시사점 등이 제시되었다.
